It has a location matched by few other casinos in the area - right in the middle of four of the largest tube stops in London. Getting to and from the casino is extremely easy - but it might not be the easiest place to find. Other than the big Genting sign it is hard to believe that the building that houses the casino is home to such a nice venue.

The regular gambler will be very happy to know that the casino is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On the 25th of December the casino shuts down for its only closed day of the year. The Asian theme - implemented by Malaysian owners Genting across all their casinos - is very friendly and welcoming. Genting Casino Chinatown has a good selection of games, combined with some nice food and drinks - making it an exciting venue to visit for a casino night out.

Gambling Floor

Gambling tables at the casino or paired two and two, with the dealers sitting in the middle. What is most impressive about this layout is the amount of space between each pair of tables. Gamblers, guests and friends can move around freely on the floor - without any sort of sensation that it is crowded.

With black and beige tables the casino offers a good range of classic casino games. American Roulette and Blackjack are at the centre of the operations, with additional tables for Three Card Poker and Baccarat. Some gamblers, myself included, enjoy the more modern games when we visit casinos. Thankfully the Chinatown casino has a good range of slot machines with different games available. There is also the possibility of playing electronic roulette around the edges of the gambling floor.

Overall it might not be the most impressive gambling floor found in the area, but it still offers a good enough range to recommend it as a regular place to go and gamble.

Restaurants, Bars and Leisure

As a lover of Chinese food it was a great surprise to enter the restaurant at Genting Casino Chinatown. Some of you might think it is obvious that it will go with Chinese themed dishes - but UK casinos are not as predictable as you might think at times. The price for a starter is just £2 and some of the main dishes cost as little as £6.

The layout and design of the restaurant goes with the overall look and feel of the casino and the general Chinatown area. Dark red and black dominate the restaurant area and the overall quality of the establishment and the food makes it worth visiting for the lover of Chinese food.

Drinking can be done at the casino as well, but the lack of a large established bar is very apparent. Even though you do not need to drink whenever you go and gamble it is still a place where you can relax after a few rough rounds or celebrate after a big win. There is not very much else going on in terms of leisure at the casino either - it is stripped to its very core with some good gambling possibilities and the restaurant that offers great food. But we do not really see this as a bad thing - it makes for a great night of gambling and food. These two combined cannot really go wrong, I think.

Tournaments, Events and Promotions

Genting Casino Chinatown is not the best place in the world when it comes to keeping their website up to date - let us just start off with that. However, even the old entries show us that they are quite dedicated to offering events on a regular basis to reward loyal customers. Free buffets can be found on a regular basis - we highly recommend the one that starts after midnight and runs until 1am.

Every Monday night there is a prize draw where you can get some nice cash prizes. New members will be happy to find out that there is a £10 matchplay bet of Electronics or slots during your first three visits. However, to be able to take advantage of these offers you need to get your hands on a Genting Rewards Card. This is easily done in the casino or by signing up online. Many of the Genting casinos have the promotions linked to the Reward cards, so it is well worth getting one if you plan on going back again - or going to another Genting casino.

Tournaments are a clear lack at the casino, mainly because none of the games that they offer are suited for tournaments. Therefore it is really hard to make this in to a bad point - unless you are dying for some tournament action.

Throughout this review we have told you about the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to this casino (movie reference, anyone?). But even though there are a few things that we would have wanted to see - a better bar, tournaments etc - we still believe that the Genting Casino Chinatown is well worth visiting if you are a gambler or looking for a good night out. The restaurant itself is one of the strongest selling points along with a really good selection of games and an excellent staff that goes above and beyond when it comes to helping out the customers. The location is ideal for any visitor or local to reach and you should not have any excuse not to gamble at the Genting Casino Chinatown.
