Coventry Casinos
The city of Coventry in the English Midlands is the second biggest in the county behind Birmingham and is the eleventh biggest city in the United Kingdom.
Coventry is located further from the coast than any other city in Great Britain but is just 19km from Birmingham and less than 100km from London, providing relatively quick and easy access to both.
Coventry is one of the older settlements in the United Kingdom but compared to many cities of a similar age, its infrastructure and buildings are relatively new. This is due to the large amount of damage the city suffered during the Luftwaffe bombing campaign in World War Two, which levelled large parts of the city centre, destroyed or damaged 4,000 homes and about 75 percent of the city's factories.
The city was rebuilt in the aftermath and became the first city in Europe to have a pedestrianised shopping precinct. In recent years, the city has undergone a period of improvements and redevelopment akin to many cities in Great Britain.
As the second biggest city in the county, Coventry is home to a bustling nightlife scene that attracts people from all around the region.
Unlike many cities, the popular night time spots aren't all clustered in one area but instead are spread all throughout the city and the choice of venues is growing year after year.
The most popular places at present are Skydome which is home to Lava/Ignite and Jumpin'Jaks, the historic Spon Street where you'll find Bar 1450 & Tin Angel and Priory Place with Dogma, Prague and Bar Escape. The operators of the largest number of UK casinos, Genting and Grosvenor, provide Coventry with it's venues, somewhat unoriginally called The G and Genting! Another former casino site, the Mint on King William Street has closed down.
The G Casino Coventry is located in Foleshill in the north of the city at the Ricoh Arena, home of Coventry City Football Club. Open from midday until 6am every day, the G Casino has blackjack, roulette - regular and electronic - and Texas Hold'em Poker, an authentic Indian restaurant and two bars with late licenses.
Genting Casino, formerly Maxims Coventry is situated on Tile Hill Lane, not far from Windmill Village Hotel, Golf and Leisure Club. Maxims offers standard casino gaming with blackjack, American roulette and three-card poker tables, as well as electronic roulette.
