Style, exclusiveness and flair are three key words when you visit one of the most contemporary and exciting casinos in London - The Colony Club. Its combination of sophistication and fun is almost unprecedented in the world of casinos and it really is a premiere location to do your gambling.
But this type of exclusiveness does not come without a price. It is a private club in London, meaning that you need to be a member to be able to play. Unlike most casinos in and around the London area The Colony Club does charge a fee of £500 for life membership. Honorary Membership is also possible however this is granted at the discretion of the Colony Clubs Membership Committee. This might seem like quite a bit at a first glance but what you get for those £500 is well worth it.
The club has a very modern style in terms of design and "service" is the key word whenever you approach the staff. Inside the club you will find a lounge bar where you can combine excellent dining with some nice drinks. The venue also boasts and exciting Teppan-Yaki restaurant which is well worth visiting.
Ideally located off Park Lane, the club is surrounded by top London hotels.
The gambling floor of the Colony Club has a total of 22 gaming tables. These tables are spread out over a wide range of classic casino games including American Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud Poker. But things do not stop here - the casino has a dedicated area for slots and electronic roulette. This means that you can get away from the noisy world of table games and focus on you and your machine.
With such an exclusive outlook there has to be a private gaming area, and the Colony does not disappoint. Their excellent private gambling room is available on special request but you will have to be prepared to fork out quite a bit of cash to get a few games in there.
One of the top features about the whole casino is the layout. In the heart of the gambling floor ceiling you will find a large purple oval light that centres everything. From here all the games are spread out with a more than adequate space and you will not feel cramped, even on the busiest of nights.
Once you become a member at the Colony Club Casino you will instantly gain access to the Colony's world famous restaurant. The highly experienced chefs at the restaurant can cook up almost anything you desire, with specialties from China, Europe, Thailand, India and Japan all on the menu.
The Teppan-Yaki bar and restaurant we mentioned in the intro is just another feature that makes for an excellent dining experience. If you have never been to a restaurant like this you will be amazed by the precision and skill of the chefs as they prepare everything from exotic fish to shellfish in front of your face. The restaurant is open for evening meals Monday to Sunday and makes for a great night out when you combine it with the gambling facilities.
If you are after something lighter - or just a drink - the Colony Club's bar is the place to go. It starts serving at 12 noon and keeps going all the way to four o clock in the morning. On the drinks menu you will find a wide range of spirits, cocktails, beers and champagne. The wine list, also available at the restaurant, is extensive and will suit any pallet. The bar area is perfect for when you want a relaxing drink in between games or hands.
With such an exclusive setting it is hard for them to promote events and tournaments on a regular basis. However, there is one major event coming up that the Colony has been promoting for quite some time now. But if you were expecting a massive Poker tournament with a huge guarantee we are sorry to disappoint you. The Mayfair Tournament 2013 takes place on the third of September and it is for... the best cocktail. You need to enter before the 18th of August but the prize money is still a whopping £1,000.
So you see what we mean, gambling is what this place is about but it's too exclusive to promote its regular events to just anyone. If you manage to get your hands on a lifetime membership - either by forking out the £500 or you are chosen by the committee - there will still be excitement and events for you.
This might be a question that many people ask themselves - especially after they see the £500 price tag for a membership. What you need to realize is that when you purchase a membership like this you buy a lifetime of exclusivity at a premiere London casino location. You can visit the premises 24 hours a day, seven days a week - enjoying some of the finest dining in all of London and some of the best cocktails around. If this is not enough for you then there is always the extensive amount of games available on the gambling floor or the excellent service provided by the entire staff.
With a bit of money you can play in the private room with a party of friends - customizing the games available to match your favourite type of play. So you might think it sounds expensive but it is just a small investment for something much better.
